Studio On Fire has done work for Putnam & Putnam since 2016. Our latest collaboration with them was design and production of whimsical labels for their recent colorful candle release. Read more below on the process.

CANDLE Labels
With guidance from the Putnam team, we designed and illustrated labels for their newest line of candles. After the process of designing was complete, they went into production getting letterpress printed here at Studio On Fire on a favorite Neenah Pressure-sensitive label stock. These weren’t a simple production project, but required six letterpress layers (that’s six different plates, one for each layer) that were expertly registered during each pass. After letterpress printing was complete, these were kisscut for easy application by the Putnam team when they were ready to apply them to the candles and candle boxes.
Paper
These labels were letterpress printed on 60# Text White Offset Label Stock.
Methods Used
After being letterpress printed with 6 layers/colors, the labels were kisscut using a custom die.
Design
Though Studio On Fire designed/illustrated the candle labels for Putnam & Putnam, the inspiration behind the design was a collaborative effort. We were proud to be able to bring their vision to life.
